ADMISSIONS – Junior Division Programming
Admission into the Junior Division is by audition only. To be considered for the JP Division children must be at least 5 years-old. The school selects students who have either trained under Hudson Dance and Movement, are transferring from another Junior Professional program or those with limited prior training.
To maintain a constant flow of progression and class development, new students are only accepted on an annual basis.
In evaluating all new applicants, Hudson Dance & Movement looks at each child as an individual. Apart from being in good health, and having strong physical traits to classical dance, all candidates should exhibit several of the following key characteristics essential to successful training:
- self-motivation
- above average attention span
- emotional maturity
- gifted sense of musicality and/or movement creativity
Enrollment within all junior programming is capped at 8 students per class. Admission of new students is therefore selective and dependent on the above selection criteria, as well as enrollment availability within a given year.
